Understanding the Stages of Natural Hair Growth

Anagen (Growth) Stage: The hair follicles actively start growing and continue for 3 to 5 years, depending on the length of your hair.
Telogen (Resting) Stage: New hairs start growing under the older hairs, pushing the older hair follicles out of the way. This stage lasts for 3 to 5 months.
Catagen (Regression) Stage: The hair follicles become shorter, and the hairs eventually fall out.
