Restore comfort and a natural look when scar tissue affects your implants.
What Is Capsular Contracture?
Capsular contracture occurs when the scar tissue capsule that naturally forms around a breast implant tightens and hardens more than it should. Every implant develops a capsule of scar tissue as part of normal healing, but in some patients, this tissue contracts excessively, causing the breast to feel firm, appear distorted, or become uncomfortable or even painful. Capsular contracture is classified by severity, ranging from mild firmness to significant distortion and pain, which helps guide the appropriate treatment approach.
